ATI in Richland, WA is seeking a Senior Leader of Operations. This role will work a 2 2 3 schedule (12.5 hour days) from 5 : 30 AM to 6 PM. The Senior Leader will lead a team of 12-18, motivate, train, and supervise operations employees to continuously improve all aspects of the operation using Lean Manufacturing concepts. You will oversee production goals, productivity and safety. To accomplish these tasks, the Senior Leader will work cooperatively with other departments.

To become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI, our melting operations, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including a diverse workforce, engineering, quality, and safety. The Senior Leader will have exceptional people skills. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Senior Leader.

  • Achieve department safety, on time delivery, cycle time, replenishment time, and first pass acceptance goals.
  • Eliminate wastes through standardization, best practices, line stops, and verbatim compliance.
  • Establish productivity standards and measurement systems to continuously monitor processes and evaluate results for areas of improvement.
  • Establish a culture of diverse thought, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Ensure strict adherence to both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Evaluate the performance of production supervisors and assist in planning for performance improvement.
  • Resolve production, equipment, and systems problems; assist in the revision of work instructions; and assist and ensure that adequate training of personnel is conducted and maintained.
  • Ensure that appropriate training of personnel is conducted and maintained.
  • Provide employee counseling and participate in conflict resolution as needed.
  • Oversee safety programs to raise employee awareness, conduct routine safety audits to assure compliance, develop procedures to minimize safety hazards, recognize and correct unsafe conditions and acts, and investigate incidents.
  • Ensure that work instructions and production instructions are current.

Basic Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience is required in manufacturing or in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Prior experience in industrial, metals or manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience with structured safety and quality programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving experience and / or skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Software Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
