Position Details :
- 36 hours / week, alternating weekends
- 6 PM to 6 : 30 AM
The expectation is to work at the adult facility which houses over 100 inmates waiting for trial or sentencing.
Responsibilities :
Responds to health emergencies throughout the facilityCollaborates with the family nurse practitioner regarding patient status and treatment neededMonitors medication compliance and reports to Health Services Administrator and FNPFollows all Laramie County Policies and Procedures with regard to security and patient contactsDelivers care in accordance with established MedTrust Policies and ProceduresMakes referrals to appropriate community resources in preparation for release from custodyCommunicates concerns regarding patient safety and behavior to appropriate medical and security personnelCommunicates the need for special housing to appropriate medical and security personnelConducts daily rounds on patients and determines appropriate housing recommendationsThoroughly documents all patient encounters in electronic or paper medical record in accordance with MedTrust Policies and ProceduresAttends special needs and Medical Administrative Committee meetings with detention administration and mandatory monthly staff meetings with medical staffKey Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Must have an active, unrestricted Compact license
MUST have 1 year experience as an LPN
Corrections experience preferred
