The Contracts Specialist will work collaboratively with the contracts team, pre-construction team, regional management, and operational management to support contract and bid development, review, and negotiation. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies and facilitating smooth contract administration, while identifying potential risks and providing practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate closely with the contracts team, pre-construction team, regional management, and operational management, regional managers, and operational leadership to support contract-related activities.Review and analyze customer and vendor contracts to identify potential commercial risks and provide practical, creative solutions.Negotiate terms and conditions directly with external customers and vendors, focusing on clear, straightforward agreements.Prepare contracts and related documents for signature and assist in drafting proposals as needed.Assist business units in determining appropriate contract flow-down terms and conditions for supplier and subcontract agreements, ensuring that internal departments are aware of relevant HR and insurance requirements.Support the effective administration of contracts, including managing changes, renewals, and amendments.Provide recommendations to leadership and operations teams regarding contract management, claims, and dispute resolution.Communicate effectively with Project Managers and other team members regarding the commercial and contractual implications of project strategies and decisions.Act as a point of contact for addressing commercial matters with customers, providing functional representation and support.Liaise with in-house departments such as Tax, Insurance, and Finance to ensure alignment and compliance in contract execution.Participate in project meetings and dispute resolution proceedings as needed, with occasional travel required.Ensure adherence to internal standards, policies, and procedures throughout all contract processes.Qualifications :
Associates Degree in business, construction management, Paralegal, or an equivalent fieldDrug Free Workplace : must submit and pass a pre-employment drug testAt least 2 years of experience in contract administration, estimation, bid review, or a related fieldStrong understanding of contract terms, negotiation principles, and basic commercial law conceptsExcellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with contract management software or databases is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailPreferred Qualifications :
