The Metropolitan Council's Environmental Services (MCES) Division has up to five Electrician vacancies. Two are regular, full-time positions and three are long-term temporary positions (up to two years). As assigned, this position will require travel between various MCES facilities within the Twin Cities metro area.

What you would do in this job
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Completion of a registered apprenticeship electrical program through the State of Minnesota AND three (3) years of journey-level experience that includes instrumentation, controls, and programmable logic controller programming (industrial experience).
OR
Graduate of a two (2) year vocational / technical program in Electrical Construction and Maintenance AND five (5) years of journey-level experience that includes instrumentation, controls, and programmable logic controller programming (industrial experience).
OR
Completion of a registered apprenticeship electrical program through the State of Minnesota AND one (1) year of journey-level experience that includes commercial and industrial construction or maintenance AND one (1) year of experience in maintenance in a wastewater plant / collection facility that includes instrument calibration, troubleshooting of motor controls / equipment control circuits, and programmable logic controller programming.
Licenses / Certifications / Registration : State of Minnesota Class "A" Journeyman license OR Master Electrician license; and valid driver's license WITH acceptable driving record.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council , you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and / or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail.
