The Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System (PMRS) is eager to welcome a Retirement Benefits Specialist to its dedicated staff. The Bureau of Program Processing is responsible for administrating comprehensive benefit processing and data maintenance. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to process all types of retirement calculations and audit calculations when needed. Work includes interpreting the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System's laws, codes, rules, regulations, board policies, court orders, and legal opinions as they apply to benefit payments. You will perform a variety of benefits-related calculations, reviews and approvals such as military purchase of service and portability calculations.

Additionally, the incumbent analyzes complex plan member financial data, creates or adjusts plan member accounts, and researches plan member account histories. The position is also responsible for processing the calculations associated with the payout of death benefits, refund of plan member contributions, and plan members instituting portability transfers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7 : 45 AM to 4 : 15 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
• Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of a training program. In office days will be determined based on business needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
