Ideal candidate profile : Seeking an Azure Cloud Architect with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and securing large-scale cloud infrastructures. This individual combines deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure with strong architectural vision, business acumen, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Advise agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations / refactoring.
  • Make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premise to cloud native migrations.
  • Make recommendations with refactoring within Azure environment.
  • Conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable product of an architecture.
  • Understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
  • Make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives, primarily to Azure-based services.
  • Sign Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect
  • Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals
  • Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications
  • Experience designing cloud solutions encapsulating all aspects of design that meet business requirements.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Entra ID)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App / App Service, Containers, micro-services architecture and server-less architecture.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, conditional access etc.
  • Experience architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
  • Ability to write professional documentation including position papers, architecture documentation
  • Managing cloud-based security posture activities including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture.
  • Experience in DevOps including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
  • Knowledge of data storage products like SQL Server, Oracle, and non-relational like Cosmos DB.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and business staff.
