As a Security Guard - Shelter Patrol Full-Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, remaining visible to support a sense of security, and providing outstanding customer service to residents and staff. Pay Rate : $16.50 / Hour

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the shelter environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the well-being of individuals at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related concerns, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with shelter staff, residents, and visitors to address questions and provide assistance as needed.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols while performing assigned duties.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Document incidents and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
