  • Job Summary :

    We're in search of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work on a part time basis at our Outpatient Clinic, part of our Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division. The psychiatric nurse practitioner is accountable to the Medical Director, who is responsible for providing supervision and training. The psychiatric nurse practitioner is one who actively promotes the philosophy of the Gándara Center, and maintains a high level of commitment to the program.

    Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Working in a community behavioral health outpatient setting
  • Seeing children, adolescents and adults
  • Meet with persons served to complete Individual Psychiatric Evaluations and assess for immediate needs
  • Continue continuity of care with medication and follow up appointments
  • Documentation including assessments, progress notes and collateral contacts
  • Be available for consultation when needed, to staff and other service providers
  • Prescription and management of psychiatric needs
  • Ensure quality care is delivered to persons served within a therapeutic environment in a cost-effective manner
  • Demonstrate behaviors that recognize the rights of clients
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : Completion of a Master’s Program (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited school of nursing
  • License : Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Massachusetts
  • Experience : 1 year (preferred) of working with a variety of psychiatric disorders
