Technical Media Producer / Engineer – KGNS

Job Summary

Providing maintenance and repair of television broadcast facilities. Technical Media Producer. Coding of television news broadcasts as well as Master Control Operations. IT support for television stations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Engineering department in the maintenance of facilities and equipment, including on-air broadcasting systems.

Provide support for routine camera maintenance, technical training for journalists, and inventory control of electronic newsgathering (ENG) equipment.

Repair and maintenance of all television equipment at the studio, as well as at remote locations and transmitters.

Use computer systems to document work and maintenance, assist in troubleshooting, and provide technical support for the station's IT environment.

Facilitate maintenance of the new vehicle fleet.

Ability to monitor and fix problems with logs.

Technical Media Producer functions, including coding and broadcasting television news and programming.

Qualifications / Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule.

Professional, with high self-motivation for providing support and serving others.

Highly skilled with Windows-based computer systems.

Great communication skills and problem-solving ability under pressure.

Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure on multiple tasks based on station needs.

Team player with good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, and advanced computer literacy.

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., with occasional work on ladders.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.

Available to provide periodic on-call support as part of an Engineering team rotation.
