Who You Are :
As an Associate Planner for Wholesale Footwear at Michael Kors, you will support the footwear team in developing strategies that generate high revenue, profit, and inventory turnover. To maximize profitability, the planning team is accountable for maintaining and driving optimal inventory levels by category & by account. The ideal candidate will be curious, comfortable working with complex data, and is energized by having a direct impact on results. This position will include cross-functional work with the department store buyers, store planners, sales, and additional support teams as needed (i.e. merchandise planning). The role requires time account facing, providing an opportunity to hone skills in presentation and negotiation or influence. This role also provides exposure to management both internal and external.
What You'll Do :
- Become the expert & owner of the business
- Achieve shipping goals and aid in forming future goals for owned accounts
- Identify (and react to) business trends which :
- Create shipment opportunity
- Stimulate sales at retail
- Reduce internal inventory liability
- Reduce markdown liability at retail
- Establish credible relationships with accounts, liaising with buying / planning offices
- Prepare and present seasonal plans / management summaries for retailer senior management meetings
- Own and maintain seasonal OTB(s) recommending adjustments based on trend & flow
- Own and maintain replenishment data and pre / in season projections
- Attend market appointments; contribute to buy making decisions with conclusive analytics
- Reconcile account buy plans to fiscal monthly plans and market purchase
- Utilize ad hoc and standardized reporting analysis required on projects such as :
- Vendor collaborations / planning meetings, hindsight presentations and retail development summits
- Maintain location data
- Aid in reporting and team initiatives / projects
- Support regional field team with weekly reporting and communication
- Work seamlessly with sales counterparts
You'll Need to Have :
Bachelor's DegreeStrong Excel Background2 3 years of experience working within (or closely with) a planning role; Retail or Wholesale Planning, Buying or Sales ExperienceFull understanding of product lifecycle and proficient in retail mathKnowledge of industry best practices / standardsDemonstrated experience in synthesizing data analysis into actionable resultsStrong insightful analytical skills and business acumenAbility to organize, prioritize and multitask effectivelyThrive in a fast paced on time deliverable environmentAbility to work in NYC office 3 days a weekWe'd Love to See :
