Facility Type : Certified Stroke Center, 24-bed Emergency Department (includes 5-bed locked behavioral health unit)

Annual Patient Volume : Approximately 24,000 visits

Care Setting : Acute, Emergency Room

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3x12s per week)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Connecticut RN license preferred (temporary license process available)

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience required

Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced emergency care environment

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in a busy Emergency Department setting

Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute and behavioral health needs

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care using Cerner MedSeries4

Respond promptly to medical emergencies and participate in stroke care protocols

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices in emergency nursing
