Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position requiring NM or compact licensure, with BLS and PALS certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital settingRotating 12-hour shifts (day and night); ability to work either shift required during the contractPatient ratio is 1 : 2Treats patient populations including respiratory distress / failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme / onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attemptCRRT and ECMO procedures, vents, and inotropic drips are part of the workflowUse of Cerner EMR systemWeekend shifts required : 4 per schedule for day shift and 4-5 for night shiftFloating required to NICU and occasional support to Pediatric ED (resource only, no patient assignments)No on-call requiredNo locals within a 75-mile radiusDaily responsibilities include managing critical pediatric patients and supporting the care of high-acuity casesMust be able to support NICU and provide resource support in the Pediatric ED as neededBlack scrubs required (not provided by facility)First-time travelers are acceptedRTO greater than 7 days requires approval; no RTO during the first 7 days or on the last day of the contractHoliday shift bundles limited; request time off accordinglyPre-employment drug screening required within 30 days of startFree on-site parking availablePerm employees may return as travelers if separated for 12 months or moreOrientation includes required modules (up to 4 billable hours) and compliance activitiesP / F testing required prior to startRequirements
