About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health)

Must-Have :

• Flexible availability for shifts and days off
• Ability to work 40 hours per week

Description :

Provides professional nursing care to patients in a correctional facility.

Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients.

Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs.

Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment plans.

Monitors restrained patients on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies.

Administers first aid and arranges transportation to emergency rooms as necessary.

Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals.

May be responsible for scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work of lower-level staff if assigned.

Participates in staff development and education.

Reviews care plans written by staff and trains or orients new employees.

Responsible for all healthcare of bedridden patients if assigned.

Evaluates care needed and rendered and develops care plans.

Administers medications including controlled substances and renders direct nursing care as needed.

Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, and phlebotomy.

Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs healthcare staff in the area.

Acts as a lead worker in charge of assigned staff.
