Job Overview

Mariani Landscape is looking for a Production Coordinator, also known as a Field Operations Supervisor. This role is responsible for the overall supervision and training of our crews. The coordinator ensures that all on-site activities are performed safely and efficiently, and that Mariani's high-quality standards are consistently maintained.

Responsibilities and Duties

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
  • Ensure Crew Leader and Site Supervisor is following policy and procedures.
  • Inspect every site in an appropriate time period to ensure Mariani quality standards.
  • Lead weekly foreman safety and training meetings.
  • Train all crew members on techniques, equipment operation, pest identification and control measures.
  • Provide crews with daily schedules and instructions.
  • Supervise the daily activities and performance of the maintenance crews.
  • Handle problems and concerns on the job site, both from external clients and associates.
  • Maintain accurate list of crew members and jobsite locations.
  • Review all time sheets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with completion of performance review forms for Site supervisors, Crew Leaders and Crew Members.
  • Interact daily with other Production Coordinators, including assisting in the scheduling of jobs.
  • Assist in the snow removal process, including assigning routes, calling in staff, and tracking client calls.
  • Communicate with Client Representatives and offers technical assistance and problem resolution.
  • Communicate with the shop team on equipment needs and use.
  • Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet internal and external client expectations.
  • Complete and ensure the accuracy of all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. This includes time-off requests, injury reports, personnel action memos, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in and contribute to Mariani initiatives.
  • Assist in the orientation / training of new Team Members.
  • Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments.
  • Recommend process improvements and areas to improve our service offerings to clients.
  • This role requires a commitment to completing all assigned work, which may include working hours in excess of the standard 40-hour workweek when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of proficiency with landscape maintenance equipment and plant materials.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary.
  • Commitment to project timelines by performing and completing your work on schedule.
  • Proficiency in common computer functions and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use the company's production software, ASPIRE / WORKDAY.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License.
  • Valid Certified Landscape Technician license, or desire to obtain one.
