Experience :

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required.

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in specialty required.

License :

Current nursing license required.

Certifications :

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.

BLS (Basic Life Support) required.

Must-Have :

Must be very comfortable with Level III neonates.

Prior travel experience preferred.

Experience with HFOV preferred.

Description :

This is a Level III NICU position.

The unit specializes in caring for premature infants, those with respiratory distress, and occasional postoperative patients.

Approximately 225 births are handled per month with 35 bassinets available.

Staff-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1 to 1 : 4 based on patient acuity.

Travel nurses are expected to admit NICU patients.

Neonatologists are present during daytime hours seven days per week.

When neonatologists are off-duty, pediatric hospitalists are in-house to respond until a neonatologist arrives.

Floating to the Well-Baby Nursery may be required.

Compliance with dress code that includes professional appearance is expected.

Shoes must be non-skid and closed-toe.

Minimal and professional jewelry is required.

Documentation system utilized is EPIC.

Respiratory support is available 24 / 7.

Anesthesia support is available 24 / 7.

Travel nurses are expected to work four weekend shifts during a four-week period.

Availability during two out of three major winter holidays and two out of three summer holidays is required.
