Qualifications : This position requires a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy, valid Pennsylvania license, and current NCBOT certification. Clinical reasoning, professional judgement, and time management are essential to ensuring the safety of the client. A strong background and experience with pediatrics is preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conduct complete and thorough screenings and initial evaluations using standardized assessments, parent reports, and clinical observations. Complete a written report of the evaluation results in a timely manner, and forward to families and ordering physician as indicated.
- Complete documentation to obtain insurance authorizations and predeterminations.
- Develop initial treatment plans with appropriate goals. Revise and update treatment plans as necessary. Plan and execute treatment sessions with evidence-based activities and interventions that incorporate best practices and are developmentally appropriate. Evaluate progress and determine readiness for discharge from therapy services.
- Maintain records of the occupational therapy program including treatment notes, reassessments, and progress reports.
- Provide parent / teacher education, trainings and counseling as indicated.
- Complete requirements to maintain professional licensure and certification including professional development.
- Provide supervision of student interns.
- Assist with equipment safety checks and maintenance.
- Make appropriate referrals to other allied health professionals as indicated.
