Purpose
The Associate Attorney helps mitigate legal risk for Pampered Chef by providing in-house legal assistance to all departments and levels of domestic and foreign operations. The role supports the legal team by performing tasks to ensure efficient operation of the legal department, including legal research, contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance support, case and file management, and liaison with internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract and Document Preparation
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, and maintain and update contract templates.
- Draft, review, and format legal documents, filings and correspondence, and advise on legal interpretations.
- Corporate Governance
- Ensure corporate entities remain in good standing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date corporate records.
- Manage required government filings.
- Task Management
- Collaborate with business units to achieve company objectives in compliance with legal requirements.
- Balance legal and business needs to provide effective solutions.
- Organize and maintain files, documents, and records.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of legal documents.
- Organize and maintain the IP clearance process for the product team.
- Legal Research
- Conduct legal research on various topics.
- Summarize findings and provide relevant information to support case strategies.
- Client and External Party Liaison
- Communicate with internal and external parties to schedule meetings and gather information.
- Respond to inquiries and provide updates on task progress.
- Legal Team Support
- Maintain and update the legal department's database and filing systems.
- Coordinate insurance claims handling and litigation support.
- Manage outside counsel and other professionals for legal and compliance issues and assist with invoicing.
- Ensure compliance in international operations and support future expansion.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Represent the Company with the external legal community, with the Direct Sales organization and with various outside vendors and regulatory agencies.

Law degree from ABA-accredited law school.Must be actively licensed to practice law or able to obtain appropriate licensure to practice in the State of Illinois prior to date of hire.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.1-2 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred.Demonstrated ability to supervise workload and perform with minimal supervision.Background experience working in a corporate business setting.Preferred

The anticipated salary range for this position starts at $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
