Information Associate St. Peter's Hospital
Position Summary : As a member of the Patient Care Centered Team, provides clerical, communication, reception, supply management and other supportive services for the Patient Care Center to ensure high quality services to patients, family members and other hospital staff. The Information Associate will be available to meet the needs of all Patient Care Centers as needed.

Education Requirements : High School Diploma required. AAS preferred.
Experience Requirements : Minimum of two years' work experience in a health related area.

Principal Responsibilities :
Responsible for maintaining the patients' medical record : Accurate identification of all patient forms and correct organization of medical recordsOrganizes chart when patient is transferred to another unitUpdated chart forms daily in medical recordReviews medical record each shift for consultsCopies medical record as neededDeletes medical record of long-term patients as neededScanning of all Patient Advance Directives to EPICPrepares medical record at dischargeCollating discharged patient records for Medical Records and Care CenterAssembles medical records of discharged patients according to the standard format in the most accurate and efficient mannerAttaches loose reports to the proper recordCompletes specific tasks for the Patient Care Unit as assigned by the Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or Sr. IAReceptionist :Answers, screens and routs telephone calls correctlyAssists patients', families and the publicAnswers nurse / patient intercom system and relays information to responsible personContacts patients family or doctor as directedAscertains identity of all personsGeneral Secretarial :Maintains adequate level of supplies. Obtains and returns equipment to proper departmentResponsible for neat and orderly environment with the unit by maintaining bulletin boards with current noticesResponsible for filing daily assignment sheet by shiftReceives, opens and appropriately distributes center mailReceives, opens and appropriately distributes materials faxed to centerOrdering Unit Supplies through PeopleSoftOther Responsibilities :Support of unit functionsMaking sure patient's names are written on daily assignment sheets.Maintaining bulletin boardsReporting maintenance issues through Facilities Maintenance Work Order SystemTIS Service Now Self Self-ServiceChecking all computer equipment to assure working properlyMaintaining nursing stations with no food, beverages, etc. (Using Hydration Stations)Preceptor for new IA's as assigned by Sr. IA or Operations ManagerUnit specific responsibilities as assigned by Sr. IA or Operations ManagerClinical Engineering Work OrdersDaily check of unit Voalte PhonesPay Range : $16.20 - $20.75
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
