A Brief Overview

Responsibilities include fiscal and resource management, quality monitoring, staff hiring, training, competency assessment and corrective actions, long term planning. The Director works with the Administrative Director Maternal Child Services and the Medical Directors (MD) to develop and maintain the delivery of services in support of the strategic goals of SVH and the Maternal Child Service Line. Plans, directs, and coordinates patient care activities in the OB / GYN clinics to maintain the standard of care for the obstetrical and gynecological patient. Advises medical staff and administrators in matters related to patient care services by performing the below duties or through delegation to subordinate leaders. Oversees operational leadership for the Lincoln Center. Assumes direct oversight of, and in collaboration with Facilities Management and Environment of Care leadership, is responsible for operational functions, maintenance, and building improvements necessary to ensure the Lincoln Center, Urish, and other applicable clinic locations are in compliance with regulatory requirements and is continual state of readiness to provide the highest quality to care to Stormont Vail Health's patient population.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 5 years Clinical Nursing experience Required
  • 3 years Management experience Required

  • Maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and staff to support effective and efficient patient care. Through effective leadership fosters a positive, professional atmosphere which encourages and enable employees to perform at their maximum potential. Fosters close working relationships with physicians and maternal child service line. Provides strong leadership, able to motivate physicians and staff, and is able to respond to individual needs.
  • Supports and assists the leadership team to determine standards of service and clinical excellence as demonstrated through quality measurements and survey results.
  • Monitors and prepares action plans on patient experience, productivity, financials, and utilization information for the system and individual service lines.
  • Provides consistent high performing operations, superior clinical outcomes, and advances professional development. Ensure continuity, flexibility, and sustainability of our nursing and clinical professionals.
  • Create, develop, and support a competent workforce and clinical system that allows care for all who need care.
  • Achieve the growth and expense management goals necessary for financial viability.
  • Supports the direction and vision of the organization, and helps physicians and staff accept the direction.
  • Provide support to maintain Magnet status.
  • Works with Service Line Leadership to maintain efficiency in scheduling.
  • Actively participates in the budget process; prepares annual department operating and capital budget appropriate to department's care goals.
  • Advises and assists the Administrative Director and Medical Staff in planning and developing administrative and operational policies and procedures, facilities use and planning, and strategic planning in accordance with ongoing quality improvement processes.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings, which include administrative announcements, discussion of new programs, and review of policies / procedures, quality improvement, problem resolution, staff issues and follow-through on previous month's issues.
  • Travel Requirements

  • 5% Local travel to various clinics is frequent. May occasionally require longer distance travel to other SVH campuses or educational conferences.
