The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings

Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities : MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.

What you will be doing

  • Prepares course schedule
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Prepares exams
  • Prepares syllabus
  • Monitors class roster
  • Maintains schedule that allows for student meetings
  • Schedules laboratory sessions for skills component of course
  • Teaches in lecture and laboratory settings; blended and virtual environments
  • Disseminates information and recruits students for service-learning initiatives
  • Assesses student performance in the clinical setting
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in and field; and Certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Function (EFDA) from an American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); and, three (3) years of full-time work and / or instructional experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic / multi-cultural environment
