Director Of Student Life
The Director of Student Life serves in an advisory role to student organizations and student publications of Meharry Medical College. The Director is also responsible for oversight of the Ross Fitness Center programming and intramural sports program. To enhance overall student life, the Director works to enhance the social / emotional development of students through educational programming, training sessions, newsletters, etc. The Director works closely with the other directors in Student Services & Enrollment Management.
Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities) :
- Supervises staff and study students; prepares and supervises preparation of reports to the College and other agencies as requested regarding Student Life; Works closely with institutional offices and student organizations to enhance student life through proper development, interpretation and implementation of policies regarding issues impacting student life;
- Plan, develop and implement Student Leadership Training, Advisor Training, Organizational Fair and other special events as needed by the department Advises Yearbook and Pulse Staff as well as work with department's work study students
- Provides leadership to 50+ registered student organizations in relation to all student activities, clubs and organizations; Directs the development, compilation, and dissemination of the College's student handbook / activities procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Master's Degree with five (5) years of relevant experience preferred; or Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years of experience in higher education, student affairs, and enrollment management.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in higher education enrollment management, admissions, student affairs, or academic administration.Experience in a health profession or medical school setting strongly preferred
