LIBRARY ASSOCIATE II (Research) at Palm Beach County

Position description summarizing responsibilities and qualifications for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, creating, presenting, and hosting public events, activities, and hands-on technology training classes.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to the public and library members with equipment, software, databases, internet access, streaming / downloadable media, and Creation Station equipment.
  • Help the public locate, retrieve, and use library materials and resources.
  • Manage and assist with room reservations; assist at the Research Service Desk.
  • Perform complex clerical and technical duties as part of daily work.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (60-semester / 90-quarter hours).
  • Equivalencies : Graduation from high school / equivalent with one (1) year of college-level coursework (30-semester / 45-quarter hours) and one (1) year of library experience, or graduation from high school / equivalent with two (2) years of library experience.

    • Preferences

  • Public or customer service experience; providing hands-on computer / electronic technology instruction to the public.
  • Bi / trilingual (English / Spanish / Creole) preferred (must specify on application).
