Ashburn, VA location – full-time position with availability on weekends, holidays, and peak times as needed.
Compensation
At Madison Reed, compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions, and tips. Potential earnings for this location range from $40 - $42 per hour. Actual compensation depends on factors including Hair Color Bar performance, tenure, and time behind the chair. The sign-on bonus is for newly hired Ashburn, VA HCB employees only. Sign-on bonus will be split across multiple pay periods : half after 30 days of active employment and the second / final payment after 90 days. Payments are made in the payroll period following the completed timeframe; you must be actively employed at the time of payment. The sign-on bonus amount is $1,500 included for eligible hires.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, developing leadership skills to provide a top-tier employee and guest experience aligned with our values : Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
- Model sales and service behaviors in all guest interactions, including resolving guest service issues.
- Support all aspects of the business as needed, including front of house and back of house operations, adhering to standard operating procedures, and assisting guests with retail orders.
- Provide consultations and all services on the menu (including shampooing, conditioning, styling such as blow dry, flat iron, curling, and all chemical services).
- Step in as manager-on-duty as needed to foster a positive, collaborative environment and coach the team.
- Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and KPIs, including retail, services, and memberships.
- Ensure Hair Color Bar meets company standards for merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
- Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Coach and develop team members to elevate team culture, guest satisfaction, and bar performance, aligning talents with responsibilities.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay up to date on Madison Reed products and services.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and training as needed by the Manager.
Qualifications
Active cosmetology license in the state of employment.1+ year of experience as a colorist behind the chair within a salon environment.1+ year of leadership experience in a customer-facing environment.Effective communication, problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems.Fluency in English.Physical Demands
Regular standing and walking for extended periods; repetitive bending and twisting; manipulating fingers and hands; lifting up to ten pounds; occasional sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching; continuous interaction with guests via conversations and consultations.
