Job Summary

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is actively looking for qualified candidates for the position of Head Lifeguard - Full Time at the Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center! The Head Lifeguard, in collaboration with the Aquatics Supervisor, oversees part-time staff in their daily responsibilities. The preferred applicant should possess experience in lifeguarding, pool chemistry, and pump room operations. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational abilities are essential, along with a dedicated commitment to enhancing water safety and providing enjoyable aquatic experiences. The Recreation Center includes a competition pool, a leisure pool, a slide, a children's play area, and a hot tub.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s) :

• Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center, Sterling, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of direct aquatics experience including aquatics programming and pool facility management, working with the public, groups and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications :

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks, and reference checks. Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification. First Aid Certification. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification at time of hire.

Loudoun County approved Pool Operator Certification.
