Medical Language Translation Coordinator

Position Highlights :

The Language Access and Communication Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) have equal access to healthcare services at the Center. This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of language services (including interpretation and translation) to meet the needs of patients, families, and staff.  The coordinator will work closely with clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure effective communication and provide language assistance, while also ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding language access in healthcare.

Responsibilities :

Process language access requests :

• Promptly answer language access requests received through the department’s central system.
• Send interpreter requests to the appropriate service providers (internal or agency) from beginning to end.
• Process document translation requests from beginning to end.
• Monitor patient schedules, virtual health schedules, early surgeries schedules to assign the appropriate human resource.
• Document, maintain and update appropriate internal platforms or logs.
