Position : Locum Pathology Assistant or Physician Assistant (Pathology Experience Required)

Locations : Georgetown, SC

Pay Rate : $140 per hour + Travel & Lodging covered.

Coverage Dates : Dec 21 – Jan 5 & ongoing

Description :

We are seeking an experienced Pathology Assistant or Physician Assistant with pathology experience to provide temporary coverage during the dates listed above. The ideal candidate must be ASCP certified and have hands-on experience grossing large surgical specimens.

This position supports the surgical pathology department and does not require working with the MSO for hospital privileges if applying as a Pathology Assistant.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens, including complex and large specimens

Prepare and submit tissue sections for histologic processing

Assist with frozen sections, specimen photography, and tissue banking as needed

Ensure quality control and compliance with all laboratory protocols and standards

Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory personnel to ensure efficient workflow

Requirements :

ASCP certification required (Pathology Assistant or equivalent)

Must have recent experience grossing large specimens

If applying as a Physician Assistant, prior pathology lab experience is mandatory

Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Must be available to cover December 21, 2025 – January 5, 2026
