Overview
Prosperous Health, Inc., a growing behavioral health management organization, seeks an experienced consultant or contractor to lead and manage all aspects of licensing, credentialing, and contracting of both providers and facilities with federal, state, and county payors. This role is critical to ensuring that our facilities and providers can bill and receive reimbursement under Medicare, Medicaid / Medi-Cal, and county behavioral health programs throughout California.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in healthcare compliance, credentialing, and payor relations, particularly in the behavioral health and substance use disorder sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Licensing & Certification
Prepare and submit applications for federal, state, and county licensing (DHCS, CMS, county behavioral health departments, etc.)
Coordinate facility inspections, surveys, and audits related to licensing and certificationMaintain compliance with all regulatory requirements for facility operations and provider enrollmentProvider & Facility CredentialingManage provider credentialing and re-credentialing with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payors
Ensure accuracy of provider and facility rosters, NPI registration, CAQH profiles, and PECOS enrollmentTrack deadlines and ensure timely renewals of all credentialsPayor ContractingNegotiate and secure provider and facility contracts with Medicare, Medicaid / Medi-Cal, county behavioral health agencies, and managed care organizations
Coordinate with internal finance and clinical teams to ensure contracts align with operational and reimbursement requirementsMaintain a database of active contracts, terms, and renewal datesCompliance & ReportingMonitor changes in federal, state, and county regulations that impact provider or facility participation
Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on licensing and contracting progressSupport audits, corrective action plans, and compliance reviews as neededQualifications
Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in healthcare provider / facility licensing, credentialing, and contracting, ideally within behavioral health or substance use treatmentStrong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid / Medi-Cal, and county behavioral health contracting processes in CaliforniaFamiliarity with DHCS, CMS, PECOS, CAQH, and NPI systemsExcellent project management, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple facilities and provider applications simultaneouslyConsulting / contractor mindsetable to operate independently, meet deadlines, and deliver measurable outcomesEngagement Terms
