Overview

FY26 : Teacher, Special Education LAD - Math, Gaithersburg HS, 1.0 FTE at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the general education teacher to support student learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities.
  • Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Support behavioral interventions as required by MCPS policies and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
  • Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for Standard Professional Certification I (SPC I) in special education; certification in a content area is desirable.
  • Two years of teaching experience at the appropriate level (elementary or secondary) or student teaching in the relevant area; knowledge of IEPs, learning theory, differentiated instruction, data collection, and evidence-based practices.
  • Fluent understanding of ESSA, IDEA, and MCPS policies and procedures related to special education; strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt instructional programs and materials to meet diverse student needs.
