Description :

Provides surgical assistance to clinicians in the oral surgery clinic and ambulatory procedure room.

Escorts patients to the surgical chair and screens patients awaiting surgery.

Reviews medical records to confirm treatment required and ensures that charts are complete.

Must be available to provide four-handed assistance to the clinicians at all times.

Ensures that all countertops, equipment, and work areas are cleaned and disinfected prior to setting up.

Organizes all sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure in the operatory.

Takes radiographs as requested before, during, and after the procedure.

Restocks cabinets and drawers; ensures medical / surgical supplies are ordered and stocked.

Provides chair-side assistance in monitoring patient vitals, suctioning, and passing of instruments and medications.

Removes all instruments and equipment at the end of the procedure and disposes of medical waste.

Demonstrates the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
