The MSL Field Director is the leadership role responsible for the management, performance, and coaching of a team of MSLs in the Immunology and Neurology therapeutic area. Primary call points include Immunology, Neurology, Hematology / Oncology. The Field Director ensures compliant execution of field medical plans, strategy, and activities within Medical Affairs, aligned with goals and objectives. This position is remote and full-time in the US with estimated 50% travel.

Responsibilities

• Ultimate responsibility for scientific knowledge of self and team and oversight of a team of MSLs throughout the entire US.
• Maintain clinical knowledge of designated therapeutic areas and broad market knowledge.
• Provide leadership and serve as primary point of contact for operational / executional requests and solutions for the therapeutic areas.
• Partner with Medical Directors, National MSL Sr Director, and North America Medical Affairs Sr Director to develop field medical strategies and tactics.
• Be responsible for the MSL team’s execution of field medical strategy for the assigned therapeutic areas.
• Conduct and / or assist MSLs in delivering formal presentations to key accounts, managed care organizations, integrated systems, national medical associations, and medical schools; act as an ambassador representing Grifols’ position and interests.
• Participate in cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, global medical affairs) regarding field-based activities, medical insights, competitor activity, data analysis, and evaluation of new initiatives.
• Involved in hiring, training, performance coaching, and oversight of a team of MSL direct reports; maintain high proficiency in the MSL function.
• Coordinate with other MSL Field Directors to standardize and ensure consistency of the MSL role; identify opportunities for cross-functional integration of MSL activities at the field level.
• Ensure the team’s work, performance, and deliverables meet or exceed goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures.

Skills, Qualifications, and Education

Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of employment and meet the Grifols Fleet Program Qualifying Driver Criteria, including a 5-year MVR review for major driving violations.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Scale : The estimated pay scale for the Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons, Immunology / Neurology role in the United States (non-California) is $195,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year. Eligible to participate in 30% of the company bonus pool. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, 9 paid holidays, up to 5% 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement. Final compensation depends on education, experience, skillset, and location. The company supports professional growth and career progression. For Washington State : First-year PTO accrual is 160 hours per year; after 365 days, accrual increases to 180 hours per year.

For California : The estimated pay scale for the California-based role is $205,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year.

Work is performed in an office environment with standard equipment. May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Travel within the United States is frequent. The role requires the ability to communicate complex information clearly and to work independently with minimal guidance. #LI-CB1
