Job Description : Job Title : Manufacturing Robotics Engineer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to join our team at a leading defense contractor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in robotics, programming, and controls, with experience in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments. This is a mid-level to senior role, and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing and maintaining automated production lines.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes
  • Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Develop and maintain documentation for robotic systems and processes
  • Optimize and maintain the production line to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in robotics, automation, or a related field, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, with experience in industrial robot programming and integration (Fanuc and Epson experience highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with machine tending and automation of manual stations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience with other industrial robots and automation systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of increasing efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing environment
  • Work Environment :

    The successful candidate will join a high-performing support team of 10 individuals, with a culture of collaboration and a "can-do" attitude. The environment is fast-paced, focusing on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner. The team is led by an experienced manager who expects high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
