Key responsibilities include recruiting and engaging military veterans, reservists, and military spouses for roles across businesses, translating military resumes and experience into relevant qualifications for civilian hiring teams, developing, maintaining, tracking, and reporting on selected recruiting metrics such as time to fill, and candidates sourced, participating in recruiting events such as job fairs, college recruitment, seminars, or conferences to attract and establish Hearst as the best place to work, working with recruiters and hiring teams to champion the strengths and experiences of military-connected candidates, delivering internal and external presentations to promote Hearst's military talent initiatives, building and maintaining partnerships with third-party military organizations, championing Hearst as a military-ready and veteran-friendly employer, partnering with Human Resources and the business to provide strategic insights into military recruitment and retention, serving as an advisor to senior leadership on best practices for hiring, retaining, and advancing military-connected employees, creating and maintaining a dynamic social media strategy on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other relevant platforms to showcase military programs, promote service benefits, and engage potential military recruits, collaborating with Hearst's Military Employee Resource Group and other Employee Resource Groups.
Required qualifications include prior military service, deep knowledge of the military community and experience working with veterans, reservists, and military spouses, demonstrated ability to build and lead employee engagement or talent programs, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, experience in talent acquisition, HR, or community engagement preferred, passion for supporting the military community, self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, this role will be based out of Charlotte, NC, and willingness to travel up to 25%.
