About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to join our dynamic team in Central California. In this pivotal role, you'll lead complex environmental planning projects, guide multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate with public agencies, private clients, and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the preparation of CEQA / NEPA documents (EIRs, EISs, IS / MNDs, etc.)
- Oversee environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for diverse projects (infrastructure, land development, renewable energy, transportation, etc.)
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, and technical experts to ensure project success
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering professional growth
- Conduct public outreach and represent the company at hearings and meetings
- Stay current on environmental regulations and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field7+ years of relevant experience in environmental planning and compliance (California experience strongly preferred)In-depth knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and state / federal permitting processesExcellent project management, communication, and leadership skillsStrong analytical and technical writing abilitiesExperience working with public agencies and / or consulting firms is a plusBenefits
