Overview

Counsel - San Antonio, TX (Remote) role at GEICO. Location – REMOTE. Must be within commutable distance from either Austin OR San Antonio site location.

GEICO is looking to hire Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in Texas courts and other first party insurance defense. The position is with GEICO Staff Counsel located in San Antonio, Texas.

Base pay range

$118,900.00 / yr - $185,525.00 / yr

Salary Notes : The stated annual salary range is a general guideline. Final compensation depends on factors including scope of role, candidate experience, education, training, work location, and market considerations. GEICO does not sponsor new applicants for employment authorization for this position at this time.

Responsibilities

• Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions / examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable
