Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, fostering a positive environment that respects their rights and dignity.

Duties

  • Assist clients with meal preparation to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
  • Provide dementia care and support for individuals experiencing memory loss.
  • Engage in social work activities to promote emotional well-being and social interaction.
  • Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes.
  • Implement care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and goals.
  • Uphold resident rights by advocating for clients and ensuring their preferences are respected.
  • Conduct patient observation to ensure safety and comfort within the living environment.
  • Administer first aid when necessary, responding promptly to any medical emergencies.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred, particularly in settings involving dementia care or social work.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is essential.
  • Ability to prepare meals that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to maintaining resident rights and promoting independence among clients.
  • Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
