Job Summary (Sr. Data Solutions Engineer)

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud data strategies, particularly for DMV modernization projects.
• Oversee and mentor a small team of database programmers handling data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and migration activities.
• Manage data conversion, mapping, and migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
• Evaluate, select, and implement data frameworks and cloud architectures to meet project and enterprise needs.
• Enforce data governance standards regarding data quality, security, retention, and stewardship.
• Design and manage system integrations, including database permissions and authorized access for reporting purposes.
• Develop and maintain data models, dictionaries, mapping specifications, and end-to-end data flow diagrams.
• Utilize data governance and cleansing tools to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain cloud privacy, performance, and load management.
• Serve as a technical mentor, capturing lessons learned and transferring knowledge for team and leadership development.
• Lead incident response and troubleshoot technical data issues as they arise.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for data quality assurance and operations within the application support team.
• Design and maintain data integration solutions across DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Coordinate with enterprise architects to ensure data architecture aligns with organizational goals.
• Identify and communicate project impacts on business processes and software development lifecycle.
• Support leadership with cloud migration best practices and documentation for ongoing and future modernization efforts.
