Job Title
Support operational security at a dedicated facility. Perform audits and assessments of equipment, facilities, contractors and processes as well as daily logs and reports. Oversee security infrastructure, metrics, reports, processes, feedback and suggestions. Coordinate with department management and vendors on training and assignment and performance of contract personnel. Participate in or conduct investigations as required. Maintain on-call hours as needed based on rotation and business requirements.
Responsibilities include the following :
- Patrol assigned building(s), freight yard(s), offices, and / or other grounds of establishment, docks, and worksite, logging information observing security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedures, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
- Investigate alarm activations and work with Security and Operations Leadership to limit or reduce false alarm activations.
- Monitor and log specific security performance metrics.
- Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies, security breaches, etc. as needed
- Oversee all security contractors and sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls etc. with Security management
- Provide information to employees, management and contractors regarding proper security processes and methods and provide training for staff.
- Perform security / risk assessments and regular audits of all facilities, including security equipment (access control, CCTV, alarms, and other security upgrades) for condition and provide summary of suggested improvements to Security and Operations management.
- Assist in emergency response and crisis management.
- Manage security planning and coverage for company events, schedule changes, special projects, etc.
- Support HR and Operations management in exit interview situations to assess risk and coordinate hostile terminations.
- Identify and report irregularities such as fire hazards, unsafe MHE operation, operations in violation of established security processes and procedures, or operations not in compliance with C-TPAT security standards. Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Observe departing personnel to minimize theft; warn individuals of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; report any suspicious activity including any unethical behavior by co-workers and contractors.
- Check DVR Video Recorders daily. Log, sign and date on a daily per shift basis to ensure that they are displaying live pictures and Recording 24 / 7. Report to the Security team if any scheduled maintenance is required including ordering emergency repair services and communication updates.
- Meet periodically with members of the building leadership team to solicit feedback on processes, guard services, etc. and provide Security management with a summary report including recommendations.
- Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the yard entrance to maintain orderly flow and ensure authorized for entry to property.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
