Summary :
The Veneer Specialist is responsible for selecting, preparing, and applying wood veneers to meet project specifications and quality standards. This role requires advanced knowledge of veneer species, grain matching, and finishing techniques to ensure consistent, high-quality results in architectural millwork projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Select veneer sheets based on grain pattern, color, and quality.
- Prepare veneer surfaces by trimming, jointing, and sequencing for optimal appearance.
- Apply veneers using approved adhesives and pressing techniques.
- Inspect finished work for adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain veneer inventory, including catalog and proper storage.
- Operate and maintain veneer application equipment safely.
- Collaborate with production, finishing, and quality control teams to ensure flawless results.
- Troubleshoot and repair veneer defects or damage as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Skills & Qualifications :
Proven experience in veneer application and preparation.Knowledge of various veneer species, grain patterns, and matching techniques.Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Familiarity with veneer pressing equipment and safety practices.Good communication and teamwork skills.Problem-solving skills and adaptability to meet production schedules.Physical Demands :
Frequent standing, walking, sitting.Frequent bending at the waist and knees, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.Frequent lifting / moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting / moving up to 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment :
