The Middleware team is focused on enhancing, maintaining, and optimizing the core components of the system. Our services and features are written primarily in Python, Golang, TypeScript and React with a focus on security, scalability, stability and type-first design. Our team develops public REST APIs, solves database scalability challenges, implements data migrations, and enables configuration management across our fleet of services. As an Engineering Manager of this team, you will drive product initiatives and ensure that the team delivers a high-quality product to customers. You will attract, develop and cultivate a high performance engineering team and environment to maintain our technical leadership in the industry.

You will guide the development team on responsibilities that include shepherding day-to-day design decisions, product roadmap progress, and long-term architectural and technology choices while encouraging healthy work-life balance. You listen to your employees and value their opinions. You believe that great things happen when engineering teams are empowered, have clear goals and a leader that removes roadblocks.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Product Management to deliver on the product vision and feature priorities, maintaining a strong ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs between scope, quality, supportability, performance, and time-to-market.

• Guide the team through the design and implementation of complex technical projects, ensuring sound architectural decisions and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with QA and Performance teams to ensure the product consistently meets the quality, stability, and scalability expectations of enterprise customers using proven experience driving innovation and improvement in performance and system reliability.
• Lead and support the team through the full product lifecycle, including post-release ownership; managing escalations, resolving issues, and maintaining transparent communication that arise during escalations / customer issues.
• Build and sustain a high-performing engineering team by fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and growth. Provide mentorship, define clear career goals, and create opportunities for skill development and advancement.

The salary range for this position is 190,000 - 210,000 + bonus + benefits
