A day on the floor
You arrive, review the traveler and prints, and plan your setup. You mount workholding, touch off tools, set work and tool offsets, load the program, and run a careful first piece. With a sharp eye for detail, you read blueprints, decode GD&T, and interpret G-code to make safe adjustments. Throughout the run, you perform in-process checks to confirm dimensions and document results to meet quality standards.
What you’ll handle
- Independently set up, adjust, and operate 3- and 4-axis CNC mills / lathes.
- Execute tool changes, apply offsets, and make precise program edits.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and G-code.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure part accuracy.
- Maintain production documentation and uphold quality standards.
