Lead Mitigation Technician / Supervisor
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Lead Mitigation Technician / Supervisor supports emergency response and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of the insurance companies and our customers are being met. The Mitigation Technician Lead is responsible for providing technical direction for jobs and projects involving fire, smoke, water, mold and bio-hazard restoration. Assist in overseeing and the coordination of all facets of restoration.
Job Duties :
- Work on job sites providing the following services :
- Water pumping and extraction
- Mold remediation
- Moving & re-setting contents
- Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process
- Debris disposal
- Setting drying equipment
- Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity, and MC moisture content readings
- Participate as directed in the following activities :
- Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
- Ensure vehicle is cleaned and restocked at end of shift
- Constructing polyethylene enclosures
- Maintaining equipment
- Practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as follow safety handbook policies
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a "lead" periodically as designated by their manager
- Attend all / complete all company training courses
Job Requirements :
Participate in 24-hour emergency on call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays)Be able to work more than 7 consecutive days when required due to workload on a large lossIICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) requiredIICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset but not required2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferredFamiliarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data SheetsComprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practicesEligible to operate a motor vehicleAbility to work within a team or independently as neededStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environmentBasic computer and / or Tablet / iPad experienceWilling to work evenings, on call and weekends when requestedCriminal Record CheckPhysical Demands :Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)Access and mobility in tight spacesFit Testing half and full face mask as needed, annual certification requiredWorking at Heights - over 5 feet, periodicallySustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
