Job Summary :
As a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), you will provide essential preventative care to patients under the supervision of a dentist. You will be responsible for cleaning teeth, examining patients for signs of oral diseases, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques. You will work collaboratively with the dental team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and comfort.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform routine teeth cleanings, scaling, and polishing.
Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to prevent dental decay.Take dental X-rays as needed and interpret results.Screen for signs of oral disease, including gum disease, oral cancer, and cavities.Assist in the assessment of the patient's oral health and discuss findings with the dentist.Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, diet, and smoking cessation.Patient Records & DocumentationMaintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Document procedures, treatments, and patient interactions in the dental chart.Review and update medical histories and ensure accurate information is captured.Sterilization and Infection ControlFollow all infection control protocols, including sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Prepare and maintain dental equipment and instruments before and after procedures.Collaboration with the Dental TeamWork closely with dentists and dental assistants to develop patient care plans.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families about treatment options and oral health concerns.Stay updated on current dental practices and technologies, and incorporate them into patient care.Administrative DutiesSchedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
Assist with ordering and maintaining dental supplies.Required Qualifications :
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.Current CPR certification.Strong knowledge of dental hygiene techniques, infection control, and X-ray protocols.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in a clinical dental setting (1-2 years preferred).Knowledge of dental practice management software.Working Conditions :
Full-time or part-time positions available.Office hours are Monday through Thursday, no weekend.Compensation :
