Base pay range

$28.00 / hr - $39.00 / hr

SHIFT : Friday-Sunday 3x12's, 6 : 00AM-6 : 00PM

Summary

The Composites Technician III is responsible for the hand layup and filament winding of advanced composite materials on designated tooling per specific work instructions, and / or customer specifications. Tasks included in this position are tooling fabrication, tool prep for lay-up, hand lay-up of pre-preg composite material using a variety of techniques and processes, vacuum bagging, precision trimming and layup techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Builds composite parts using appropriate hand layup techniques
  • Utilizes ply-placement system for accurate lay up of plies on tools during layup process
  • Visually inspects for FOD prior to bagging parts for room temperature, oven, and autoclave
  • Performs in-process inspections as instructed on work orders and as delegated by quality
  • Reads precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
  • Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Reads and understands blueprints and drawings
  • Assists with basic facility maintenance and clean-up
  • Demonstrates leadership and provides guidance to more junior Composite Technicians
  • What We Are Looking For

  • Required Education : High School diploma
  • Required Experience : Strong proficiency with basic hand and power tools
  • Typically possesses : 4–7 years' experience in a technical field and / or construction, electrical, plumbing, facility maintenance
  • Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic and attitude
  • Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
