Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN with MS / Tele and NIHSS skills for a night shift travel position requiring every other weekend and floating.

Responsibilities

  • Med / Surg unit in a hospital setting
  • Night shifts available : 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 18 : 30 to 07 : 00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Patient ratios of 1 : 7
  • Floating to other units as needed is required
  • Both 36 / 36 or 36 / 48 weekly schedules offered
  • General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules
  • Contract RNs are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing requirements
  • Lab drug test required 12-14 days prior to start with flexibility for repeat testing if necessary
  • Non-billable orientation includes electronic transcript modules averaging 4-5 hours
  • No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be accepted

    • Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg and Telemetry experience required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
  • First time travelers are accepted
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from facility
