Job Title : Durability Evaluation Engineer
What You Will Do
- Research, develop, and oversee full-vehicle durability testing at an automotive proving ground.
- Responsible for in-market durability and corrosion tests of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models sold in North America, using internally-developed test modes aligned with North American environments and customer expectations.
- Support corporate goals such as safety, customer satisfaction, warranty cost reduction, and enhancing public image.
How You Will Make an Impact
Follow up on vehicle incidents reported by test drivers and technicians; assess and escalate issues; investigate and resolve problems; communicate with global stakeholders; establish effective countermeasures and evaluate their effectiveness.Conduct static and dynamic vehicle inspections periodically; monitor performance degradation; develop and improve inspection processes and metrics.Participate in inspections of used vehicles, collect data on real-world conditions, and use survey data to inform test mode development.Monitor durability issues from various data sources, including warranty claims, customer surveys, and social media.Install, configure, and analyze data acquisition equipment, working with various data inputs like CAN bus, thermocouples, strain gauges, and accelerometers.Support third-party data collection for research, model correlation, and market analysis.Develop and document procedures for engineering and testing staff; communicate clearly and professionally.Handle administrative tasks and oversee project activities related to equipment and facility maintenance.What You Will Bring to the Role
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering.At least two years of experience in vehicle testing and development, preferably in an automotive proving ground environment.Excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with data analysis tools like MATLAB, R, or Python.Experience with automotive data acquisition tools and sensors, issue investigation, root cause analysis, and project management.Strong time management and organizational skills.What Hyundai Can Offer You

Compensation
$80,000 - $95,000Other Details
