Part-Time UI / UX Designer

Role Overview :

Our client is looking for a Designer to handle design improvements and new feature mockups for our financial software platform. Mix of UI polish and UX problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and improve financial dashboard components (tables, charts, buttons)

Create mockups for cash flow visualization tools (including complex waterfall charts)

Design financial statement layouts and reporting interfaces

Build design systems for consistency across platform

Create user-friendly interfaces for complex financial data

Work with existing design patterns and improve them incrementally

Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements and vibe coded prototypes into polished design specifications

Must-Have Qualifications :

3+ years UI / UX design experience, preferably in B2B SaaS

Proficiency in Figma and modern design tools

Experience designing data-heavy interfaces (dashboards, analytics, reporting tools)

Understanding of responsive web design principles

Portfolio showing clean, professional interface designs

Experience with prototyping tools and translating low-fidelity concepts into high-fidelity designs

Highly Preferred :

Previous work in fintech, accounting software, or business intelligence tools

Experience with financial data visualization (charts, graphs, KPI displays)

Understanding of accounting / finance workflows and terminology

Experience working with development teams using design systems

Proven ability to work with product managers to refine business requirements into detailed design specs

Experience taking rough wireframes or prototypes and developing them into comprehensive design systems

Bonus Qualifications (Emerging Tech) :

Experience with AI-powered design tools and vibe coding platforms (Magic Patterns, v0, Lovable, etc.)

Ability to rapidly prototype using vibe coding tools while maintaining design quality

Understanding of how to leverage AI tools for faster design iteration and component creation

Comfort working in a hybrid design-to-code workflow where designs can be quickly tested and iterated

Note : While traditional Figma-based design workflow is our primary need, we're interested in candidates who are exploring or experienced with vibe coding tools as the landscape is rapidly evolving.

Working Style :

Self-directed with minimal oversight needed

Can take business requirements, rough prototypes, or product manager feedback and translate to user-friendly designs

Comfortable iterating quickly based on feedback

Available for occasional real-time collaboration during US business hours.
