Math Adjunct Instructor Duties and Responsibilities
Teach classes as assigned in accordance with all SAE policies and procedures.Deliver instruction in alignment with the Student-Centered Active Education model.Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and student engagement.Participate in academic advising, curriculum development, and support campus events such as workshops, orientation, and graduation.Manage the learning environment by keeping accurate attendance records, submitting grades and reports on time, and enforcing policies.Plan and prepare for classes, developing activities that support learning outcomes.Support absent and high-risk students through contact and documentation.Complete faculty development activities annually to improve instructional delivery and support diverse learners.Maintain instructor eligibility according to regulations.For full-time instructors, supervise makeup sessions, provide tutoring, advise student clubs, support faculty development, and substitute as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Math Adjunct Instructor Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Qualifications vary depending on course level, including minimum degrees, industry experience, and familiarity with learning systems and methodologies. Specific requirements include :
Master's degree with 18 semester or 24 quarter credits in relevant courses for general education.Bachelor's degree and 4 years industry experience for diploma or associate's degree courses.Master's degree and 4 years industry experience for bachelor's degree courses.Familiarity with Canvas, learner-centered, active, problem-based, and project-based learning methodologies.Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.Additional Information and Physical Requirements
This is an onsite, campus-based position requiring prolonged sitting and standing, handling files, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, and using a keyboard and display terminal for extended periods.
