Position Details :

  • The Kilgore College Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) department provides life-long learning opportunities for adults in the community.
  • This is a part time position with instruction times varying depending on the course of instruction.
  • Part time instructor are added to the instructor pool and will instruct on a course by course basis as needed.

Responsibilities :

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for instructing short term training in day-time, evening or weekend courses pertaining to obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

    • The specific duties include, but are not limited to the following :

  • write / review course descriptions and learning outcomes, build / supplement curriculum as needed, provide instruction and ensure all elements of training are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Applicant must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a tanker endorsement and at least five years of truck driving experience.
  • The applicant will preferably possess a minimum of an associate’s degree and have training experience.
  • Applicant must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; have effective presentation and computer skills; be well organized and thorough; be able to work well with little supervision; demonstrate patience, teaching ability and listening and be able to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population.

    • Salary Range & Fringe Benefits :

  • Pay is commiserate with education and experience.
  • Worker’s compensation  Limited Part-Time Retirement Plan Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.
  • All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX.
  • No fully work from home positions are available at this time.
  • All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus.
  • Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.
  • Kilgore College is a two-year, comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas.
