Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU role in an ambulatory surgery center, requiring critical care and both PACU and Pre-Op experience.
Responsibilities
Work in an ambulatory surgery center within a hospital environmentPosition involves both PACU and Pre-Op responsibilities for post-operative patientsDay shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7 : 00am to 3 : 00pm, 8-hour shifts40 hours per week expectedOn-call participation is requiredCare is provided for complex post-surgical patients in a Level I trauma settingFloating may be required within similar unitsMonitor post-operative patients for recovery and anesthesia side effectsProvide updates to the medical team and document vital signs and recovery progressAdminister pain, nausea, and other post-operative medications as prescribedMaintain accurate EMR charting and patient recordsEducate patients and families on post-surgical careTwo manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience are preferredCOVID and flu vaccination documentation may be required for considerationRequirements
Active DC RN license is required at the time of considerationCurrent AHA certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALS are requiredMinimum two years of recent PACU and Pre-Op experience requiredAt least two years of ICU experience in a U.S. hospital is requiredGraduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN programCPI certification is mandatedCPAN, TNCC, and CCRN certifications are highly desirableBSN is highly desiredMust possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independentlyCandidate must reside more than 25 miles from the facilityBenefits
