We’re seeking a technical, relationship-driven sales engineer with deep knowledge of the electrical utility industry. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between engineering and sales - helping utilities and customers see the true value of ductile iron over competing materials.

Experienced with PLS or similar modeling software

Skilled at building trust and long-term relationships
Core Responsibilities
Lead failure analysis, specification review, and competitive / TCO analysis
Provide technical expertise and answer complex customer questions
Develop white papers, test documents, and training resources
Partner with sales and marketing to deliver impactful product training
Lead quality testing and support new product development efforts
Promote ductile iron poles as the superior alternative to wood or concrete
Represent the company by joining industry committees and presenting at conferences
Success in Year One
First 3 months : Learn product line, shadow customer meetings, build internal relationships.
6 months : Independently lead technical discovery calls, support key deals, provide product feedback.
12 months : Recognized as a trusted expert—driving revenue influence, improving sales processes, and representing the company at industry events.
Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years’ power utility experience
Experience with testing, quality, and modeling software (e.g., PLS)
Skilled presenter with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel; valid driver’s license
May work remotely with regular visits to home office
Preferred :
Professional Engineer (PE) license
10+ years in the utility or pole industry
Familiarity with multiple pole materials (wood, concrete, composite)
Experience with PLS & Pole Foreman software
